Cycling from Lyon to Nice

As part of a number of activities carried out by Managementors this year, our Director of Projects, David Beggs, has recently cycled from Lyon to Nice in support of East Surrey YMCA. Over 4 days the team cycled 424 miles with 45,000ft of climbing over some of the most iconic climbs in the Alps.

Taking in Col du Grande Colomber, Croix de Fer and Alpe d’Huez along the way the team raised over £13,000 by the time they arrived in Nice.

This money will help to create a new, multi-purpose, disability sports, fitness and wellbeing facility in East Surrey, designed to inspire and support people of all ages and abilities to lead active and healthy lives. It will also target those least likely to participate in, but with most to gain from, sport and physical activity, encouraging them to be active and healthy.

In addition to this it will help build a facility that will become a centre of excellence in Surrey for disability sport and physical activity for those with long term health conditions.

David says: “As part of our commitment to Consulting Excellence it is important to remember our contributions to the local community. All our staff are encouraged to take part in activities outside work that support others and whilst it was hard work and tough going at times, I am glad to have supported this worthwhile cause.”
