During Summer, a few of our team members did their bit for charity and raised a grand total of £2,500!
Our Director of Internal Operations, Abi Leech and best friend Cara, completed the Trek26 Stonehenge Marathon Walk in aid of The Alzheimer’s Society. As a charity that means a lot to the both of them, they decided to brave the rocky, uneven terrain and steep hills in honour of their family members who have suffered with dementia.
The 26-mile trek started and finished at Salisbury Rugby Club on 31st August. The marathon route began in the north of Salisbury, taking them past the magnificent 13th century cathedral, home of the tallest spire in the UK. They continued over water meadows, high ridges and quiet woodland and finally completed the trek in 9 hours, where they came 180th out of the 360 other participants.
Together they raised £1,311 for their chosen charity and were pleased to have ticked a marathon off their bucket list!
One of our Consultants, Abi Bryce, also took on a 5k Tough Mudder course in September, alongside a group of friends. The crazy course consisted of 13 obstacles surrounded by lots of water and even more mud! A great day was had by all and they enjoyed it so much they are thinking of braving the full distance next year.
The girls managed to raise over £1,000 which they donated to Cancer Research – a charity close to their hearts.
We are proud of our Abi’s efforts in contributing to charity and we wish them all the best for their next charitable endeavour.
